What will happen to you, if you get a chance to eat one of your favorite dish from college canteen (after Thirteen Years)?
Birla College - Aunty's canteen - Bread Cutlet (esp the Chutney) is kind of a "mathematical equal to relation" for anyone who has studied @ Birla College Kalyan.
The Bread cutlet with crispy top slice, the tasty masala within and chutney (red) used to be my special menu then.
During my recent visit to Kalyan I learnt that the co-owner of Amber Fast Food / Super Fast Food, near Nutan Vidyalaya - Karnik Road is someone from the group that was running Aunty's canteen @ Birla College. They are still serving the Bread Cutlet.
Curiously and with bit of hesitation I went there.... CAT believes that to retain the taste is a big challenge for commercial outlets (it is never the case for Indian home made food); to remember it is bigger!!!
Discounting both of us for these challenges, I was so happy to see the presentation of dish exactly identical to one I had Thirteen years before.
The first bite....took me to the yellowish table & bench where I was sharing Bread Cutlet with the group.
Hats off to Amber Fast Food - for retaining the taste & presentation of Bread Cutlet - yet keeping it a budget dish.
